University of Texas at Arlington Engineering Research Complex

University of Texas at Arlington Engineering Research Complex
Arlington, Texas

The new Engineering Research Complex on the UT Arlington campus will unite science and engineering in one facility to leverage resources, combining diverse skills and backgrounds to facilitate collaborative research. The new 235,123- square-foot building will provide state-of-the-art multi disciplinary research laboratories, laboratory support spaces, faculty and student offices and administrative offices. The project has been designed to achieve LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Sustainable design concepts include green and light-reflecting roofs, abundant natural light, rain and condensate water capture and storage for landscaping, and the use of recycled materials. The complex reflects the existing materiality of the UT Arlington campus through the use of red brick, limestone, glass and steel.
