University Lofts
Denver, Colorado

This mixed-use off campus student housing project is strategically located in the retail district of the University of Denver.  With five levels of apartments, designed for upper class co-eds, the eight-level facility includes two levels of underground parking for 71 cars and street level retail fronting both University Avenue and Evans Street.

Located on a tight urban site, the 85,000-square-foot facility is directly across the street from the Daniels College of Business and the Burns School of Real Estate and Finance and completes a symbolic gateway from the neighborhood to the campus.

The building’s massing conforms to a 65-foot height limitation with terraced set-backs respecting the concerns of the University Park Neighborhood.  The architectural character of the building—with its combination of crisp horizontal and vertical lines, the use of university brick and the extensive use of glazing and transparent elements—establishes itself as a complement to the institution with a distinctive collegiate character.

The project was designed in association with SSA.
