University of Northern Colorado, Ross Hall Natural Sciences & Humanities Complex Renovation and Expansion
Greenly, Colorado
This renovation and new construction project, totaling 220,000 square feet, joined the programs of Sciences and Humanities into a single complex. Two existing buildings form the basis of the new building complex: the four-story Ross Hall (1965) and the two-story North Wing (1989). These structures were stripped of interior partitions and electrical and mechanical systems, and then reconfigured. An equal amount of building area was added as new construction and divided between two new buildings. The three-story North Expansion comprises laboratory spaces, administration offices and faculty offices for Biology and Chemistry. A four-story extension, containing classrooms and dry laboratories, caps the east end of Ross Hall. A one-story wing contains two 100-seat lecture halls.
