Kuwait Middle School Prototype
To be used at 25 locations, the prototype design for middle schools meets the challenges and requirements of the program which include a requirement to be modern in function and appearance, sustainable in a durability sense, easy to maintain, fully enclosed, have controllable environments, be suitably landscaped, provide good natural daylighting, have durable finishes and fixtures, and be accessible to the physically challenged. The sites for new middle schools range in size from 150,000 to 190,000 square feet.
The project involved the development of a design that would provide fully secured school sites with fences and walls and ensure the privacy of the schools for girls. The theaters and sports fields of the schools for boys are to be accessible to the surrounding communities.
