Colorado State University-Pueblo Student Housing Village
Pueblo, Colorado
This project is a 250,000-square-foot, three-phase residential village that will provide 750 beds, approximately 20,000 square feet of common area (classrooms, lounges, game/recreation, cyber cafe, retail, vending and smart laundry areas), a future dining hall, surface parking and recreational fields. Each phase will deliver incrementally 250 beds for the fall semesters of 2009, 2010 and 2011.
The project goals incorporate sustainable design principles, fostering a sense of community and community identity, creating a safe environment for all residents, integrating indoor and outdoor spaces, presenting living and learning opportunities and providing residents with technology unavailable off-campus. With a mix of unit types, individual student privacy is achieved with over half of the suite mix providing private bedrooms for each resident. Each suite has a dedicated bay for desk space to study, a walk-in/alcove or enclosed storage closets and a compartmentalized bathroom - and comes equipped with data connections and cable TV.
