Baylor Health Care System Our Children’s House

The Baylor Healthcare System’s Our Children’s House project is a new two-story addition to the existing Our Children’s House Pediatric Specialty Hospital. The new 31,000-square-foot addition ties into the first and second floors of the existing facility.
The first floor addition will contain conference and administrative facilities, but its primary service will be to provide day surgery functions for the hospital through the addition of two new operating rooms. These new operating rooms will be served by pre-op and Stage I and Stage II post anesthesia care units. The first floor will also contain the central sterile, dock and expanded general storage functions of the facility.
The second floor of the new addition contains 12 day patient observation beds, 20 semi-private beds, administrative space and support spaces to serve the main functions. The second floor addition will connect directly into the existing second floor patient care area.
Planning, programming, architecture and interior design were provided for this project.
