University of Northern Colorado, Arlington Park Apartments
Greeley, Colorado

Arlington Park Apartments is a six-building, 181,000-square-foot private student housing development on the West Campus of the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). The project, which is an addition to and renovation of the 1940s-era Arlington School, was initiated by the West Campus Plan which expanded the UNC campus and created a unified undergraduate residential campus.

The apartment/loft-style units are the social, technological (one port/bed) and environmental home base for the West Campus students. The architectural character of the project complements the existing style and scale of the historic Central Campus residence halls. The guiding concepts and design goals for this 396-bed project reiterate the emphasis on learning, the encouragement for interaction and the creation of a symbolic quadrangle configuration of residence hall buildings, with each building addressing the street edge. The two- and four-bedroom units offer an open loft-like interior volume with a large amount of daylight.  Arlington Park is supported by a proportional allocation of lounges, study rooms, conference facilities and common spaces.

Services for this project included a feasibility study and cost analysis, programming, master planning, architecture and interior design.
