Houston, TX (21 February 2011) –PageSoutherlandPage is pleased to announce the following promotions in the Houston office: Vice President: Verrick D. Walker, PhD, LEED AP, CDT, is a facility programmer, planner, and strategic consultant who specializes in science and technology facilities. As a scholar and practitioner, he has published peer-reviewed research relating to the impact that the built environment can have on individual performance and well-being. His recent efforts have focused on evidence-based design, specifically the formulation of a research-based approach to facility programming and performance evaluation. A recipient of the Harvard School of Public Health Laboratory Design certificate, Verrick earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Prairie View A&M and both his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Architecture from Texas A&M. Senior Associate: John F. Gloetzner leads the PageSoutherlandPage Houston office Marketing Studio and is responsible for managing marketing and business development activities across all local, national and international market sectors that PageSoutherlandPage serves. John has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from the Center for Design, Architecture and Construction in Honduras, and has worked in the Marketing and Business Development field for over eight years. Karen Killingsworth, AIA, is an experienced project manager and senior project architect and has focused her career on healthcare projects. Most recently she has worked on the Texas Children’s West Campus, Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital and lab projects for Baylor College of Medicine. A registered architect, Karen received her Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. Garrett Neubauer, PE, is a senior mechanical engineer and engineering project manager who specializes in design of HVAC systems and management of MEP projects. In addition, as a member of the PageSoutherlandPage Commissioning team, he has also provided commissioning services for the recently completed HPD Property Room, numerous NASA facilities and the University of Texas at Austin College of Communication Building. Garrett, who is a licensed engineer, earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University. Andy Phan is the lead visual multimedia designer for PageSoutherlandPage and has had an active role in numerous projects and competitions in the U.S. as well as overseas, including Texas Children’s West Campus, Methodist West Houston Hospital, Kempinski Accra Hotel and Kuwait University. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Houston. Aristeo Vidal is a Project Manager with experience in various building types. Since joining PageSoutherlandPage, he provided project management services on the Texas Children’s West Campus. Aristeo received his bachelor and master degrees in architecture from the University of Houston. Joanna Yaghooti, AIA, LEED AP, BREEAM AP, is Director of Sustainable Design for the Houston office and is the first U.S. citizen to achieve BREEAM accreditation. Recent project experience includes Gold LEED certified Discovery Green, the LEED certified Houston Police Department Property Room and the GSA Regional Field Office, which is pending LEED certification. Bachelor of Arts in History from Kenyon College and a Master of Arts in Architecture from Ohio State University. Associate: Autumn Anderson is an interior designer with bachelor degrees in both architecture and environmental design from the University of Houston. Her recent projects include the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Pickens Academic Tower, Methodist West Houston Hospital Medical Office Building and Cirque, a luxury residential tower in Dallas. Ben Clemons is an electrical designer who is also on the PageSoutherlandPage Commissioning team. He has worked on multiple projects for both NASA and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, as well as the GSA Regional Field Office and Discovery Green. Ben earned his Associates of Arts, Electrical Technician from Houston Community College. Daigoro Tsuruoka is a designer with exceptional knowledge of building structure systems and components and is responsible for technical delivery of the design of a project. His recent projects include Methodist West Houston Hospital and the DPS Crime Labs in Corpus Christi and Weslaco. He received both a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from the University of Houston.
