Over his career, Matt has organized and directed many of landmark projects in the State of Texas, from the Barbara Jordan Passenger Terminal at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and the Austin Convention Center to the Robert E. Johnson Legislative Office Building adjacent to the State Capitol building. He has recently served as Principal-in-Charge for such next generation technology facilities as the 1.6-million-square-foot Samsung Austin Semiconductor Fab A2; led the planning for Hewlett-Packard’s Modular Data Center Prototype as a template for its more than $1 billion data center conversion program; and directed the design of over 1.5 million square feet in new construction for Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. Over the last 10 years alone, Matt has been responsible for projects totaling over $5 billion in construction value that have been recognized with over 75 design awards and featured in over 50 publications throughout the world. His projects extend from Austin, across the nation and around the world. As a fifth-generation Austinite, Matt has played a key role in helping to shape the revitalization of its downtown. While serving as president of the Heritage Society of Austin from 1996 to 1998, he initiated and led the Heritage Austin Program, focusing on building a consensus for a community value-based vision for the revitalization of downtown Austin and has since followed through with the design of over 10 blocks within its Central Business District. Under Matt’s leadership, the Austin office was named AIA Firm of the Year by the Austin Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 1998 – which recently nominated the firm for its selection as the Texas Society of Architects 2009 Architecture Firm Award. |

Matt has been with the PageSoutherlandPage Austin office since graduating from the University of Texas in 1972. He was named a principal with the firm in January 1983 and currently serves as managing principal of the Austin office.
