Carvell PageSoutherlandPage Changes Name to PageSoutherlandPage

Denver, Colorado (21 December 2009)– Denver-based Carvell PageSoutherlandPage, which was formed by the merger of Christopher Carvell Architects and PageSoutherlandPage, will officially change its name to PageSoutherlandPage as of December 31, 2009. Christopher A. Carvell, AIA, who established his firm in 1995, is Managing Principal for the Denver office of the international architecture and engineering firm.

 

During the months since the merger between Carvell and PageSoutherlandPage was initiated, the two firms have created powerful synergies from their combined expertise in several market areas. PageSoutherlandPage brings to the Rocky Mountain region over a century of experience in healthcare, higher education, high technology and public facilities, while Carvell adds his significant portfolio of classroom buildings and research laboratories for the health sciences, adaptive re-use projects, investment offices, student and affordable housing, and sports and recreation facilities for higher education in Colorado and the Mountain States.

 

Carvell, who has over 31 years of experience in the Denver area, has designed projects on ten regional college and university campuses throughout the Rocky Mountains. He has also been involved in the planning and design of over 7,067 beds of student housing and over 5,000 units of market rate and affordable housing, including the recent, award-winning Renaissance Riverfront Lofts for the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. This Green Communities-certified affordable housing project has received numerous accolades, including the Affordable Housing Finance Readers’ Choice Green Winner and the Colorado Construction Gold Hard Hat Award for Outstanding Multifamily/Hospitality Project and Judges Special Award for Outstanding Community Contribution. A new multipurpose events center expansion to the University Center will open soon at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, as will a 750-bed, multi-phase residence hall complex for Colorado State University-Pueblo, Both projects have been designed to achieve LEED Gold certification.

The Denver office’s work also focuses on municipal facilities throughout the state, including recreation centers, projects on the decommissioned Lowry Air Force Base, and community centers, performing arts venues and affordable housing with diverse funding sources, including the City and County of Denver, the City of Gunnison, the Town of Avon, Enterprise Community Partners, the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

 

Other notable projects include the Center for Oral and Facial Health (School of Dental Medicine) at the University of Colorado at Denver Health Sciences Center; a new residence hall and commons at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming; the renovation and expansion of Plachy Hall, providing a state-of-the-art high-altitude training center for Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado, and the Park Avenue Hope VI – Block 2 Redevelopment for the Denver Housing.
